What is Happening at USF?

Here is the latest bit of Info I have gotten about what is happening
at USF....

USF Tampa Library to remain open 24 hours / 5 days a week
A collaboration between the USF Libraries, Academic Affairs, and
Student Government
What you need to know:
-New Library hours begins on 1/11/2010
-Library's 1st floor will remain open non-stop from Sundays at noon -
Fridays at 6PM
-At midnight, anyone working on other floors must move to the 1st
floor
-A valid USF ID will be required during the overnight period
-Starbucks will stay open until 3 AM

2010 Student Body Elections: Applications online NOW
Positions:
Student Body President & Vice President
Senators for each of college
Before turning in your packet make sure you have completed the
following:
· Created a list of campaign staff (only for Presidential
Campaigns)
· Got the appropriate amount of signatures, names, and NetIDs
for your petition
· Completed all forms in the packet (remember that both
donations and expenditures can be amended at a later date)
· Make plans to attend AT LEAST ONE candidate information
meeting.
· There is a total of 60 Senate Seats available: (Seats
assignments to colleges are subject to change based on student
enrollment)
o College of Arts & Sciences – 27 Seats
o College of Business – 11 Seats
o College of Education – 7 Seats
o College of Engineering – 7 Seats
o College of Arts – 3 Seats
o College of Public Health – 1 Seat
o College of Nursing – 3 Seats
o College of Medicine – 1 Seat
· Remember to turn the application in before 5 p.m. on January
22, 2010 to the Student Government Office Manager on the fourth floor
of Marshall Student Center Student Life Tower.

SG is looking for interns for the Spring 2010 semester! Positions are
available in many different areas. Applications must be submitted to

Campus Wide Representative
Want to Get Involved? Be a Campus Wide Representative
SG is looking for students who would like to be representatives for
the Spring 2010 semester! Positions are available in many different
areas including, but not limited to, Black Affairs Committee,
Commencement and Convocation Committee, Library Council Committee,
Student Heath Services Committee, Undergraduate Council Committee, and
Graduate Council Committee.
Applications must be submitted to Andrew Cohen, Director of Department
of University and Community Affairs, Marshall Student Center 4300.
This is an on-going application, and there is no deadline for this
application.

A Change At Hand: Breaking Barriers & Building Bridges

Location: Marshall Student Center Oval Theater
On behalf of Student Government and the Black Student Union, we would
like to invite you to participate in our Spring 2010 Week of Welcome
Student Body Forum entitled A Change at Hand: Breaking Barriers and
Building Bridges. As students, it is our duty to voice our opinions
and show that we are concerned for academics, well-being and the
future of our University.

Topics will include but not limited to Campus Experience, Student
Life, Student Support Services, Academic Programs, Financial Access &
Affordability, and Student Readiness. Come out and let your voice be

Textbook Affordability Student Awareness Event
Date: Wednesday, January 13, 2010
Time: 12PM – 2PM
Location: Marshall Student Center North Entrance (entrance by the food
court)
Come out and talk to your Student Government representatives about
textbook options that are more affordable for your budget! Find out
what Student Government is currently doing to make textbooks more
affordable for USF students and fill out a survey to help us better
represent you. Pizza will be provided to those who fill out the
survey.
